Parent and Teacher Conferences: 11/13-11/20

A student's success in school often results from the combined efforts of two of the most important people in that student's life: parents and teachers. The first scheduled conference of the school year is an important opportunity for you to share information about your child. That's why; I have listed below some topics for parents to think about. If any are relevant, you may want to jot down notes and then share information with your child’s teacher during the conference. reaction to school. previous school experiences, both positive and negative. home responsibilities. reactions to recent changes in the family or household. interests or hobbies outside of school. special needs, such as medication, nutrition, allergies, or health related information I would also like to share some questions that you may want to ask at the conference: · What are ways I can support school experiences at home? · What is the best way to contact you if I have concerns or questions during the year? · What are my child's strengths and weaknesses? · How does my child get along with others? · Can we develop a system for communicating, such as passing an assignment notebook back and forth, to ask and answer questions?
Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Friday, November 13- Friday, November 20. Students in grades 1-6 are dismissed at 12:40 for those six days. Our goal at Alamo is to have 100% of parents to have a conference with their child’s teacher. If you should have questions, please feel free to contact me.
